A simple elopement in downtown Des Monies, Iowa.
When it comes to your wedding day there is no wrong or right way. No one says you have to spend a certain amount or have to do anything traditional. These two created a day that fit their personalities and included their closest loved ones.
Katie got ready at her beautiful home in Des Moines. The moment I walked in, I fell in love. This girl knows how to decorate with so much carefully put together details. Notice that dress? My favorite local wedding designer, Dame & Maiden, created this one of a kind. To top it off, my girl, Marie was Katie's makeup artist and maid of honor.
Chris got ready at AC Hotel in the East Village. He looked so daper in his tux from The Backroom in Beaverdale. These two looked AMAZING from head to toe.
They saw each other for the first time at the Courthouse as we all waited patiently outside the one room they always do these in. I've shot so many elopements here that even the judge said we should team up for these! haha. So they signed a few papers, sealed the deal with a kiss, and off we went to go toast over a few beers.
And what better place to cheers to than El Bait Shop? The staff was super cool and even let us take a few photos inside their cooler and cute little retro trailer. The best part of elopements is the possibilities are endless. We can take our time going places you enjoy together and are part of your life. We can take time to stop and photograph at some super fun places. From Bellhop to The Republic on Grand : we utilized as much as we could and had THE best time.
