IF YOU LOVE SUBTLE COLORS + METALLIC VIBES THEN YOU’LL LOVE THIS TIMELESS WEDDING!
Matt and Timberly got married at the gorgeous Rose Garden in Des Moines, Iowa during summer. It was a stunning outdoor wedding, with roses everywhere and a rainbow that made its own appearance.
The couple met "the old fashioned way" - at a bar in Downtown Des Moines. They’ve been together for 8 years before they decided to make it official. After catching each other's eyes from across the room, Matt quickly intrigued Timberly after playfully pretending his name was Mateo. The rest became history.
The excitement before the wedding
Timberly got ready at the AC Hotel with all her closest girls, and there was such a relaxed vibe. I immediately fell in love with the whole decor of the suite they were in. All the monochrome colors and geometric shapes, tall ceilings and one whole wall was nothing but giant windows. So much space and light. The girls were sipping on champagne and lemonade when I arrived. They immediately made me feel so welcomed as we joked and laughed through the getting ready photos. Their black robes and Timberly's white robe were classic and made everyone feel good during the photos. She wore a gorgeous v-neck and low back, long wedding dress from Allure Couture. It looked incredible on her. The girls then took the short trip to get to the ceremony from Des Moines’ East Village to the Cultural District. They blasted "In The Name of Love" and rocked out before arriving.
Matt got ready in the lobby of the AC Hotel with all his guys. It doesn't matter where you did photos at in that place, because everything their is stunning and full of beautiful art. He wore a maroon tux from Weddings By Design and stood out from his guy's as they wore a timeless black tux, and looked really dapper. They arrived before the gals and were so ready to get the show on the road.
The outdoor ceremony
The ceremony took place at the stunning grounds of the Rose Garden. The ceremony area was filled with roses all in bloom, which was so perfect, because of the subtle monochrome and metallic tones they chose to wear. That pop of color really stood out. The ceremony began with a beautiful reading, and finished with a sweeping first kiss. Beautiful tunes were played by Kaleena + Jerod. It was a romantic ceremony, full of so much love and private smiles. I absolutely loved the circle layout they had the guests seated in which also made for a long aisle for them to walk…….means more time for me to take photos!
After the ceremony, all the guests made a beeline for the bar, which was set up in the gorgeous courtyard of the Des Moines Art Center. Then we went for couples portraits. I got some stunning couples photos in the gardens – surrounded by all the roses and lush green trees. The weather was perfect, sunny then cloudy. Looked like it may storm later on but instead just gave us a beautiful rainbow. Can’t complain about that!
Timberly and Matt chose to have their wedding at The Rose Garden because it has so many options, and it’s near their home. The Rose Garden is a stunning venue, and it’s got such a romantic vibe, especially in the actual gardens where the ceremony took place.
The reception
For the reception, the couple had planned an indoor/ outdoor setup and had a cocktail bar, taco bar, and panini station for their guests, and everyone really enjoyed it – the donut display and sweets table was also a huge hit ( Ask Earl haha).
The party
After dinner, they cut the cake, and the evening kicked off. The DJ kept the party going all night. Especially when MY PONY by Genuine came on. Timberly and Matt busted out some dance moves even their guests thought they choreographed ahead of time.
The couple says the biggest piece of advice they could give you, is to grow up together, grow old together, be patient, and support each other’s adventures and dreams.
